The Director's Manual from the Learning to Ring series.
This is the Learning To Ring curriculum's instructional manual for handbells, the most complete beginning resource available. It is based on the premise that ringing skills should be taught in conjunction with good rhythmic skills, and provides any director or teacher with the insights and tools to develop these skills in new ringers.
The Director's Manual is divided into three sections:
1) the fundamental information necessary to organize a new program (history, notation, equipment needs, ringer selection, marking scores, and the octave numbering system
2) eleven lessons that teach skills from holding and ringing a bell to weaving, with hints, illustrations and teaching tips throughout
3) additional teaching techniques for mallets, special effects, multiple bells and rhythmic word cues
